I have a bad toothache what should i do

The infection in this scenario is serious enough that you’ll want to get appropriate treatment from a medical professional without delay. For many people, a salt water rinse is an effective first-line treatment. Salt water is a natural disinfectant, and it can help loosen food particles and debris that may be stuck in between your teeth.


Treating a toothache with salt water can also help reduce inflammation and heal any oral wounds. Last time I had a toothache, the next day it became an abscess and had to get emergency surgery to drain the puss and remove the tooth. It was a baby tooth grown to the jaw, no adult tooth to push it out and it became infected.

A bad toothache means that the cavity has almost or has reached the nerves, hence the pain. You should have it checked as soon as possible, because your dentist can save the tooth or you may have to eventually have it removed. When you have a bad toothache , you may not be able to get to the dentist in time, and you need a remedy quickly.


There are a few things you can do to get rid of a toothache before seeing a dentist. Put off these entire till you consult a dentist. Chemical damage to gum tissues result when you apply pain-relieving gels or paste to an infected gum. Be sure to avoid this practice.


Only give medication to kids based on physician’s prescriptions. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water.

Put an ice pack beside your cheek for numb the affected area. Keep a record of your pain. Dogs have nerves in their gums , periodontal ligaments and tooth roots. Dogs, just like people, may therefore suffer from the pain of a toothache , but unlike people, they are not much prone to cavities as people are. Treatment for a toothache depends on the cause. If a cavity is causing the toothache , your dentist will fill the cavity or possibly extract the tooth , if necessary. However, soon the tooth hurts again as the dead tissue becomes infecte or abscessed.


Garlic- a clove of garlic with rock salt should be place on the affected tooth. It will relieve the pain and help fights off infection. Onion- you can chew the onions or place it on the affected tooth. It has antibacterial properties so it can lessen the rate of infection. You might not have heard of them, but you should have done.
