Sinusitis is the inflammation of the tissues lining the sinuses. The inflammation can present with or without infection and affects. If your sinus infection spreads to your eye socket, it can cause reduced vision or possibly blindness that can be permanent.
Uncommonly, people with chronic sinusitis may develop inflammation of the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord (meningitis), an infection in the bones, or a serious skin infection. I had sinus surgery but it did not clear up. Been to every doctor and had every test run.
Treatment of Sinusitis. It is inflammation of the brain. It can be triggered by inflammation or infection elsewhere in the body such as in the sinuses.
The sinus infection that spread to the brain may cause an abscess. This can be a consequence of when the infection causes swelling and inflammation in the brain. Inflammation can create irritability, low concentration and an inflamed brain. Further, it turns out the inflammation (caused by the inflammatory response to mold) often causesbrain fog as a symptom. There are numerous diagnosable inflammatory diseases (Rheumatiod Arthritis, Crohn’s Disease, MS, etc.) where brain fog is listed as a symptom.
Signs and symptoms affect the eyes, facial bones and nervous system.
Normally, sinus secretions are moving and draining out into the nasal cavity. But in sinus infection , this normal mechanism is affected. The infection often causes inflammation and blockage.
As a result, the mucus increases in thickness because it doesn’t drain properly. The cilia may also slow their function to sweep and clean the mucus. Antibiotics and medication directed at the sinus inflammation may return normal sinus function. Sinus infections that linger for weeks or months can require more intense treatment. Surgery can be an option in cases of recurrent acute sinusitis or chronic sinus infections.
Most sinus infections will resolve in a week or two. Magnolia bark is a supplement to consider if you have reason to believe you are low in the neurotransmitter dopamine. Besides food and supplements, there are many healthy lifestyle habits that can reduce inflammation. Here’s how sinusitis can lead to brain swelling.
New research has found that smoking-related sinus pain, swelling and inflammation are reversible. The pain threshold increases as the brain inflammation grows in size. Eventually, the abscess may cause tiny blood vessels in the brain to rupture causing symptoms reminiscent of meningitis. Traveling through the blood- brain barrier is difficult.
Both problems are life threatening. A sinus infection can also spread into the orbit of the eye, possibly causing blindness. An sinus inflammation can lead to potentially fatal aneurysms or infected blood clots.
That’s a lot of distress for an. When I can get it under control my brain fog clears up. However, lately absolutely nothing does the trick.
It was worth it because it ended my chronic post nasal drip, but the nasal cavity is still inflamed and re and the brain fog is still there.
