I have a really bad toothache what should i do

Last time I had a toothache, the next day it became an abscess and had to get emergency surgery to drain the puss and remove the tooth. It was a baby tooth grown to the jaw, no adult tooth to push it out and it became infected. If you have a toothache, chances are there is an infection.
