Why do retainers are important after braces? How much would it cost to fix a broken retainer? What do if you break your retainer? It seems the most common practice among practitioners is to replace appliances only as they demonstrate a need (show signs of fatigue and damage).
The issue of retainer replacement is a common one, and a common headache for dentists. Replacement retainer cost varies per location and dental clinic.
If you had JUST completed your braces and lost or damaged your retainer, I could see someone making a new one for little more than the lab fee. They would still have useful models on hand. Of course, your orthodontist still has the models. Mine was about $dollars.
The normal retainer (with the wire going across the front) is usually around $100. If not include replacement retainers can cost $ 70-$2for one or $140-$5or more for a set. Permanent Retainers – permanent retainer is around $0for both the upper and lower teeth but can range anywhere between $6and $100.
In most cases, if you previously wore braches, the cost of the retainer is already included so there are no more additional charges. But if ever you need to replace retainers , you will have to pay again since most dental insurance does not include replacement retainers in insurance coverage.
If you have lost or broken your removable retainers we are able to replace them. Our prices per arch is £95. The first appointment will be to take impressions of your mouth which will then be sent to our lab for the retainers to be made. The next appointment will be for you to collect them. The average cost for a removable (Hawley) retainer is $ 2per arch.
You may want to look into an appliance that will move the tooth back into alignment, then act as a retainer. I recently had to replace my daughter's top and bottom set, which she broke by putting them away in a pocket instead of her case which set me back $ 750. Essix appliances range between $350-$600. I usually give my patients a free retainer at the end of treatment and then charge about $ 3for each replacement.
I can tell you that prices for lost retainers range from $ 1to $500. The cost of a replacement removable retainer is £180. If you are an NHS patient and still under our care (your braces were removed less than months ago) the cost is £70. Retainers that are made of Vivera clear plastics cost between $3to $750. This type of retainer is used by those who wore braces before.
Essix retainers that are made of clear plastic (vacuum-formed) ranges from $1to $2for one retainer. For a complete set, it costs about $to $250. But no matter how cheap, it still an additional expense as replacement retainers can cost about $up to $2for one retainer or $1up to $5for a set of dental appliance replacement.
It is also important to note that most health insurance policies do not cover replacements for misplace lost or stolen retainers.
Vivera Clear Plastic retainers are made by Invisalign. Bonded retainers cost between $250-$5for one row of teeth or $500-$0for both rows of teeth. Like the name suggests, the retainers are glued to the back of the teeth and are not removable. When we received the retainer we signed a paper agreeing to a maximum replacement cost. Also, have you heard of the evertain retainer replacement.
But replacing them every time they snap cost so much money. But so does another set of braces. Vivera retainers are: Clear and virtually invisible.
At The Orthodontic Centre we aim to make Orthodontic treatment affordable to all of our patients. Our interest free payment plan enables you to spread the cost over the course of your treatment. You will need to make an initial payment at the start of treatment, then the remainder of your fees will be split in to equal monthly payments.
