Top and bottom braces

This is not, however, the only way that you can get braces. It is possible for you to get braces just on your bottom teeth. A common misconception many people have in regards to braces and orthodontic treatment is they are only required when you have crooked teeth or a type of malocclusion.


While some orthodontists will put braces on the top teeth first before moving onto the bottom teeth, or vice versa, that’s a little different and still involves eventually addressing both sets of teeth. They are mainly concerned with improving the look of their top teeth and don’t see why they would need braces on the bottom teeth in this case.

They usually feel their top or bottom teeth are straight enough or the bottom teeth aren’t all that visible so they consider them less of a priority. Is it possible to get my top braces off before my bottom ? I did have to pull teeth prior to my braces which led to gaps, on top and on bottom. The gaps in my top are closed completely and I have no overbite.


There is a very tiny gap in my top caused from the elastics. I was hoping in about months I could at least get my top braces off. Which type of braces are best?

My top are not as ba but the bottom is crowded due to my wisdom teeth pushing them. You can correct and make the top teeth straight but then the bottom may be off as far as the midline or the bite. This can only be corrected if both the top and bottom are braces are placed on. Also if the bite becomes off you will need to wear elastics or rubberbands to correct that.


The only way to wear the rubberbands is to have the braces.
